More Progress

Finally got it! We received our address today for our property! I am not sure if the process in my area is the same as it is everywhere else, but it couldn’t have been easier here.

I went on to the County Tax assessors webpage, downloaded a form, and submitted it to their email with a $20 payment. The form asked some basic questions like; Name, Parcel number, directions to the property, and description of where you intend to have the driveway.

It would have been done a whole lot sooner except in pure Justin fashion when I submitted the form in December, I submitted it the day they switched from their legacy program to a new program, so it charged my account, and logged my request, but it did not generate a request in the new system. So when I hadn’t heard anything just after the new year, I called the county and inquired. After a few minutes the clerk recognized the problem, apologized profusely, and said she’d generate the work order that day. Three weeks later their work is complete, I have a new address, and all the administrative work to transfer the property and tax record is complete.

I find it interesting that if I was on the other side of the road I would have a totally different address, our road is the dividing line for the zip code. I realize its silly but having grown up in this area, I really wouldn’t have been happy to have my address be the other town! Ridiculous I know.

I’m scheduling this post to be sent out tomorrow morning, I have to travel for work so I will be in the air headed out of the country tomorrow. With that being the case, I would like to wish my oldest son HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 23 years young, and making me feel older every day.
