As is the custom for an emerging writer I have been submitting articles to journals and online magazines. And as is the custom, I received two rejection notifications today.
At first it’s always disappointing, you put valuable time and effort into a product to have it rejected, and that is never fun. But, as time goes by you realize that a rejection can be fortuitous and also educational. I have been pondering an idea recently and I think I am going to proceed with it. Rather than focusing on getting my articles published in established journals, I am going to publish myself, either to a Substack, or to this blog, and then link it to social media. I have not yet decided, but I lean toward starting a Substack for my journalistic articles, and keeping this blog for my creative work as well as the log of the homestead build. I will let everyone know what I decide in the near future!
